We are drawn to the water.
A taste of salt a taste of sand.... |
Winter at the beach |
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.
It’s a way of life. A need. A yearning. It hums in us everyday. We swim in the water like otters.

The usual suspects
We migrate to the sea with precision and purpose as soon as the cords to our childhood are cut. Our internal compass to lead us toward a salty body of water; like birds migrating south via some ancient, ancestral, homing instinct.
With an urgency much like a fish on land gasping for water to fill its gills with oxygen, we need the salty ocean to fill our souls.
Being near the ocean calms me. The waves of the sea help me get back to me.
Stepping out of it we don’t feel the need to rinse it off. Our eyelashes are dusted with salt and our sun-bleached hair matted with it. Our skin always tastes of salt. We are different and it is obvious.
“I have always been fascinated by the ocean, to dip a limb beneath its surface and know that I'm touching eternity, that it goes on forever until it begins here again.”

Tadus
We are drawn to the sea because our subconscious mind instinctively wants to return to the specific vibrational state of the ocean from which we once emerged. |
“What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark? It would be like sleep without dreams.”
“The sea does not like to be restrained. ”
Did you ever notice when you go to the beach,
especially when the wind is blowing and the waves are pounding the surf,
that the invigorating air really clears your mind?
“The sea always filled her with longing, though for what she was never sure.”
tug of war
Walking on water is at times used as an example of an impossible task. The phrase is widely used to refer to the performance of extraordinary tasks, as in the titles of books that aim to show individuals how to break through their personal limitations and achieve dramatic success
“My soul is full of longing
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”
"This is the seashore. Neither land nor sea. It’s a place that does not exist, it is a secret in out hearts that we only share with out friends."
“I am longing to be with you, and by the sea,
where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air.”
The voice of the river speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous,
enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace

“There is one spectacle grander than the sea, that is the sky; there is one spectacle grander than the sky, that is the interior of the soul.”

“In still moments by the river life seems large-drawn and simple. It is there we can see into ourselves.”
Life is like the river, sometimes it sweeps you gently along and sometimes the rapids come out of nowhere
The river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself

These compounds can act as foaming agents. As the seawater is churned by breaking waves to the shore, the presence of these surfactants under these turbulent conditions traps air, forming persistent bubbles that stick to each other through surface tension. The foam can be blown by strong on-shore winds from the beach face inland.

Some people meander through life completely unaware of the pull of our bodies toward the sea. They enjoy the ocean, but when they leave, they dust the sand off and transition back into terrestrial life without blinking an eye.
